Clergy Appreciation Day (or Pastor Appreciation Day or Ministry Appreciation Day) - 2021-10-10
What is Clergy Appreciation Day (or Pastor Appreciation Day or Ministry Appreciation Day)?
A flock is only as strong as its shepherd. Just as a shepherd would herd his sheep, a pastor guides his congregation in prayer and worship. The clergy, also called pastors and ministers, serve the church and their community daily. They’re also there for life’s big moments. As of mid-2018, there are 51,000 people serving the Lord in America as members of the clergy. They sacrifice to serve. Clergy Appreciation Day is to recognize the clergy of your church. Pray for your pastor and thank them for the work they do. Do something selfless and volunteer at church. Spread the word about your pastor by inviting people to attend a sermon with you. Clergy Appreciation Day is the day to give back.
When is Clergy Appreciation Day (or Pastor Appreciation Day or Ministry Appreciation Day)?
Congregations come together to honor their clergy on the second Sunday in October every year. This year, that day is October 10th.
History of Clergy Appreciation Day (or Pastor Appreciation Day or Ministry Appreciation Day)
Believe it or not, Hallmark Cards was the first to honor the clergy by bringing out a card for Clergy Appreciation Day in 1992.
