August 13 - International Left Handers Day

What Is International Left-Handers Day?

Scientists are not quite sure what determines left or right-handedness in a child, but it is estimated that approximately 10% of the population is born with a dominant left hand. It seems to be hereditary, as it is more likely to appear in the child of a left-handed parent. Being a leftie in a rightie society is quite difficult, with objects such as mugs or scissors being engineered specifically for right-hand users, not to mention the constant ink stains from smeared pens and the like. On International Left-Handers Day, show some love to your favourite leftie and let them know how much you love and appreciate them.

When Is International Left-Handers Day?

On August 13th, we raise a glass for the underdogs of our society, the lefties! It’s International Left-Handers Day.
