Monkey Day - 2021-12-14
What is Monkey Day?
Monkey Day is a holiday created in 2000 by contemporary artists Casey Sorrow and Eric Millikin. They made Monkey Day popular when they were art students at Michigan State University. The idea for Monkey Day was initially conceived when Sorrow scribbled the words on his friend's calendar and then celebrated with other MSU art students. Monkeys are adorable, mischievous, and sometimes downright annoying. And many species of monkeys are endangered. There’s also the matter of animal rights and medical research. The holiday gained notoriety when Sorrow and Millikin began posting their Monkey Day artwork online along with other artists, which attracted the attention of a large number of people.
