Mother's Day is an annual celebration of our mothers' absolute love and devotion. We honour our mothers on this day with gifts and love, though they deserve so much more.

The second Sunday in May of every year is Mother's Day in some countries.

Mother's Day has links to the Women's Rights movement, as activist Julia Ward Howe attempted to recognise a day for the recognition of mothers in the aftermath of the Civil War. She was not successful in attaining popularity, but was recognised for her efforts. In 1905, Anna Jarvis picked up where Howe left off and by 1911 the day became an annual celebration.
