What is National Apricot Day?
An apricot is a fruit that comes from a tree of the same name. The most popular species is Prunus sect. Armeniaca but any Prunus from section Armeniaca are also known as apricots. Apricots are rich in vitamin A, beta-carotene, and other carotenoids. They are excellent for promoting eye health. Lutein helps to support retina and lens health, while carotenoids and vitamin E support overall vision. Apricots also reduce the risk of macular degeneration and cataracts.
