National Authors’ Day - 2021-11-01
What is National Authors’ Day?
November 1, 2016 is National Author’s Day. Celebrate it by curling up with a favorite book and enjoying some time outside of your own world. In order to truly appreciate the writers who inspire you, it’s important to understand the time and effort that go into writing a story. Whether it’s fiction or non-fiction, books play a major role in our daily lives. If you’re like me, you appreciate the authors that write your favorite books and spend countless hours writing them for us to enjoy.
When is National Authors’ Day?
National Author's Day is on November 1st.
History of National Authors’ Day
In 1928, Nellie Verne Burt McPherson, the president of the Illinois Women’s Club, came up with an idea to create a day that recognized American authors. She thought it would be a good idea for people to stop and appreciate American literature and give authors more recognition.
