National Black Cat Day - 2021-10-27
What is National Black Cat Day?
October 27 is National Black Cat Day. It’s a day to celebrate the beauty of these sleek felines, as well as their low adoption rates. For Halloween, black cats are especially popular. However, other cats also deserve our attention. Old notions have cemented a stereotype of black cats as evil. For the holiday, we should turn this around and give these cats some love. Black cats are also a problem for adoption. Their canine counterparts face similar problems with adoption. So, not all about myth and mystery. However, the goal is to increase support for black cats on this companion holiday. Don’t overlook black kitties when considering adoption. They are just as sweet as any other cat! Whether you are afraid of the dark or not, there is a black cat out there for you. Visit your local shelter and explore the options available to you. If you can’t adopt, volunteer and spread the word about these cute cats! Despite their looks, they are as sweet as any other cat.
