National Black Dog Day - 2021-10-01

What is National Black Dog Day?
We often refer to dogs as man’s best friend. From curly, long-haired poodles to short-haired pointers, the variety of dog breeds is phenomenal. The options are endless: large breeds, small ones, skinny or chubby. Black dogs have earned themselves a bad reputation. Sadly, they’re often the last to be adopted - purely because of the color of their fur. BDLM: Black Dog’s Lives Matter!
Black dogs do not differ in temperament from other dogs and are just as loving and loyal. Black-colored dogs deserve a wonderful home where they’ll be nurtured and cared for. Adopting a pet from a shelter is a good way to provide a loving home, as well as reduce the number of strays and backyard-breeding. National Black Dog Day aims to encourage the adoption of these often-overlooked pups and to end the stigma associated with owning a black dog.
When is National Black Dog Day?
We celebrate National Black Dog Day on October 1st.
