National Bugs Bunny Day - 2022-04-30
What is National Bugs Bunny Day?
April 30th is the most anticipated day of the year for Bugs Bunny fans. It is the date on which he first appeared in a cartoon in 1938. The Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons were famous for their zany antics. Bugs Bunny was always the cause of much mischief. His nemesis was Elmer Fudd, who was a hunter. Bugs Bunny caused a lot of trouble for Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, Porky Pig, Pepe Le Pew, and Marvin the Martian. The popular rabbit’s catchphrase “What’s up, doc?” was first heard in 1938’s Porky’s Hare Hunt , but Bugs Bunny solidified his character as the smart, fearless bunny he is now in 1940’s A Wild Hare .
