Candy corn is a type of small, pentahedral-shaped candy that has three different colors. The texture and flavor are based on honey with sugar or butter added for sweetness. It is a staple candy of the fall season and the Halloween holiday in North America. It's pretty crazy that we once used candy corn for chicken feed. Nowadays the sweet treat is so popular, but back then it was just some kind of leftover grain!

National Candy Corn Day on October 30th is not just a day to eat your favorite treat, but also an opportunity for people all over the world who enjoy it as well!

You can thank George Renninger for this fall favorite. The Pennsylvania-based Wunderle Candy Company is responsible for creating the perfect treat in 1885, with their invention of "candy corn."
