Cellophane tape, or cellotape, is a very common household and office item. We use it every day without even a second thought as to what we would do without it! And that is why we use this day to appreciate tape to the very fullest.

Tape lovers rejoice, for May 17th is National Cellophane Tape Day!

Richard Gurley Drew invented the tape in 1930. He created the tape from cellulose and originally called it cellulose tape. Our research has not pinpointed the creator of National Cellophane Tape Day.
