When you think of pie, what do you think of? Does it have fruit filling? Or is it more of a crust thing? Is the filling sweet or salty? Pies are very diverse. You can get all kinds of stuff in one pie. What’s your favorite kind of pie? Pies were introduced to America by the first English settlers. Early American colonists used a long narrow pan to make their pies, called a “coffin” like the crust in England. As in Roman times, early American pies were not eaten but just designed to hold filling during baking.  

National Cherry Pie Day is celebrated on February 20th!
