National Chicken Boy Day - 2021-09-01
What is National Chicken Boy Day?
National Chicken Boy Day commemorates the birthday of one of America's most legendary fast food mascots. Chicken Boy is a statue erected along Route 66, of a boy with a chicken head. The 22 foot tall statue is named after a famous 1960's restaurant and is made of fibreglass. He joins the league of other famous characters such as Ronald McDonald. Chicken Boy was originally displayed on site at the Chicken Boy restaurant, but was sold to an art director, Amy Inouye, when the owner of the restaurant passed on in 1984. Over 20 years later, he now stands outside Inouye's design firm, looking over all who pass by. Hop in the car and take a drive to wish Chicken Boy a happy birthday today!
