Dr. Dupree worked for the second-largest chicken restaurant in the world as the Director of Community Relations and Training. She helped to ensure that each franchise was treating their customers fairly and making sure they were not discriminating against people. During this time she became known due to her work with the community, helping them with their problems. Through this work she earned herself a nickname 'Chicken Lady Day'
