National Crush a Can Day encourages us to collect, clean, and recycle our cans. In addition, we educate the public on the benefits of recycling and why it is important to do so. Aluminum cans are the most recycled material in the US, after steel. It is a great way to conserve energy, as it uses 95% less energy to recycle them. And yet, we still throw out over 1 million cans per day! Use this day as an opportunity to teach yourself how to recycle aluminum cans, and where your nearest recycling plant is!
