Donald Duck made his appearance on June 9 of 1934. Donald Duck Day was first proclaimed in 1984 by Mayor Tom Bradley of Los Angeles. He gave the city a statue of himself as a gift on his 50th birthday as well as touring the country leading up to the big bash.
