National Eggnog Day - 2021-12-24

What is National Eggnog Day?
The origin of eggnog can be debated by culinary historians, but most agree it originated from an early medieval British drink called posset, made from hot milk that had been curdled with wine or ale and flavored with spices.
In traditional homemade eggnog, milk or cream, sugar, raw eggs, one or more alcoholic spirits, and spices, often vanilla or nutmeg, and in some recipes, cloves, are added. The egg whites can be whipped until they are thin, giving the drink a frothy texture. In some recipes, the eggs have to be separated, so that the egg whites can be whipped until they are thick.
