National Funeral Director and Mortician Recognition Day is March 11th, but please don't wait. Thank funeral directors and morticians for the amazing work they do for us during our most difficult times. These extraordinary individuals consider every aspect of a funeral, from the casket to the burial plot, to give us a service that honors the lives of our loved ones. Death is a difficult topic to discuss, but it’s a service all of us will need at some point. Funeral directors help us plan for this inevitability by guiding us through the difficult process of saying goodbye to a loved one. They are present with us in the darkest time of our lives and help us celebrate the memories and achievements of our loved ones. Funeral directors are good listeners and compassionate people. Their organizational skills also help guide us through a difficult time of loss. These are two important traits of a funeral director.
