National Girl Scout Leader's Day - 2022-04-22
What is National Girl Scout Leader's Day?
April 22 is National Girl Scout Leader’s Day. It’s a day to celebrate the thousands of volunteers who spend time with girls, teaching them about the world. The leaders come from all over America. They volunteer their time, and they mentor girls in everything from science to public speaking. Young girls especially need to have positive, inspiring female role models in their lives. Young girls are often surrounded by males, so it's easy for them to look up to men for guidance and support. Young girls need to have strong female role models in their lives to provide a foundation of confidence, strength, respect, and courage. Young girls especially need positive, inspiring female role models in their lives. The Girl Scouts of the US has approximately 750,000 volunteers. These individuals help girls become better leaders, form bonds with other girls and leaders, and learn to make critical decisions. The organization provides a wonderful opportunity for adults to give back to their community and develop their own leadership skills as well as those of the girls they work with.
