Sitting at a computer desk all day is not good for your body at all and this national day encourages us all to get moving for our own sakes. A hike is a great way to unplug, connect with your hiking partners, and work up a good sweat.

Geek Adventures founded National Hike With a Geek Day in 2016 to give friends with geeks an excuse to drag them outside and take place in an activity they otherwise may not have tried. The Registrar at National Day Calendar declared National Hike with a Geek Day to be observed annually in 2017.
