A kouign amann is a soft, flaky pastry cake made similarly to puff pastry but with fewer layers. It is sweet and buttery and originated in 1860. This national day was established in 2015 by b.patisserie to share this delicious pastry with the world. On June 18, 2015, the Registrar of National Day Calendar proclaimed the celebration to be observed officially on June 20th, annually.
