National Lineman Appreciation Day - 2022-04-18
What is National Lineman Appreciation Day?
National Lineman Appreciation Day honors the men and women who work around the clock to keep this country powered. If you are reading this article, you likely have a lineman to thank. These men and women help to build and maintain the system that keeps our country running. It's called the grid, and it's everywhere. It's above ground, below ground, and it even comes right up to your home. But this system is much more than just wires. It's made up of real people who are working hard to keep us safe. Even if the power comes from a different source, it is still dangerous. Power lines are not the only hazard. Power must be transported safely. It can kill both linemen and consumers. Even when everything is going smoothly, construction workers face danger every day. Whether they are working in a trench, near water, or on a high tower, the risks are high.
