National Make a Dog’s Day - 2021-10-22

What is National Make a Dog’s Day?
It’s Make A Dog’s Day on October 22nd. This is an opportunity to give all dogs the best day of their lives. The day not only encourages visits to shelters, but it is also a reminder to animal lovers everywhere to adopt instead of shop for a new pet.
An estimated 3.3 million dogs enter shelters each year. One in three dogs that enter shelters are euthanized; many of them are given up by their owners. The need for adoption is still overwhelming, and we need to be sure that all dogs get a second chance in a new home.
Of course, you can’t forget about the most important thing of all: adoption. If your dog could talk, they might say that long walks are the best. Have you been to the dog park lately? You should! Or, maybe a new toy is more your dog’s style. Sometimes, all they want is to play. Play with them! The number one thing on every dog’s list – don’t stop!
