National Margarita Day - 2022-02-22
What is National Margarita Day?
The Margarita is a vacation in a glass, and we think you should take advantage of this spirited holiday and mix up your own cocktail from home. The most common margarita in the United States is made with tequila, triple sec, and lime juice. The key ingredient is the Persian lime juice. In the United States, the most popular lime is called a Persian lime. If you use lemon instead of Persian lime, the taste is much softer. There are many legends about how the margarita was invented. The one thing we know for sure is that it included tequila, and the rim of the glass was edged with salt. Margaritas are a classic cocktail, but there are a lot of recipes out there. The Cointreau Original Margarita recipe keeps it simple, though. It relies on a ratio of 2-1-1: two ounces of Blanco tequila, one ounce of Cointreau orange liqueur, and one ounce of lime juice. All shaken together and strained over ice in a glass with a salted rim.
