National Marzipan Day - 2022-01-12
What is National Marzipan Day?
The main ingredients of marzipan are sugar, honey, and almond meal sometimes augmented with almond oil or extract. Marzipan is usually made into sweets, such as chocolate-covered marzipan and fruits and vegetables made of marzipan. As well as being known as almond candy dough, marzipan is also an agreeable and multi-purpose combination of the first two, with a subtle almond flavor and unsurpassed malleability. Marzipan is a popular treat around the world, with countless variations: In Germany, sugar and almonds are blended into a paste; in France, sugar syrup is added; and in the Middle East, rose water is stirred into the mixture.
