March 9th is National Meatball Day. It's a great day to celebrate one of America's favorite foods! Who knew there were so many ways to make a meatball? There are many recipes and methods for making meatballs. Some people like them in spaghetti, others prefer them on a sub sandwich, as a pizza topping, or even as the only ingredient in a meal. The possibilities are endless! Meatballs are one of the most versatile foods in existence. Their variety is endless and can be used in hundreds of different ways. We certainly can’t put a number on the number of meatballs that exist. One giant meatball can be enough to satisfy any hunger, but a bowlful of smaller ones is easier to share. Meatballs are very flexible. You can make them in advance, and they're perfect for a party appetizer. Meatballs are also easy to make ahead of time and freeze, so you can cook them on busy weeknights. Finally, meatballs can be used as a main dish or a side dish.
