Microwave Oven Day is a holiday to honor a device that has made it easier for people in small apartments, single households, and busy lives to cook and reheat meals. Microwave ovens have been around for a long time, but they have only recently become the must-have household item that they are today. Percy Spencer, an American engineer, is generally credited with developing the first microwave oven. He named it the “Radarange” after wartime radar technology which influenced its design. The Radarange was first sold in 1946.  

On December 6th, National Microwave Oven Day is observed, Microwave ovens revolutionized the way we cook food.
