What is National Missing Persons Day?
The pain of losing a person you love is truly difficult. Unfortunately, people pass away, and this makes it even more painful to know that they are in a place you don’t know and can’t reach out to them. When someone dies, everyone has a loved one that they still have contact with. This person could be a parent, mother, sibling, baby, neighbor, or coworker. Disappeared without a trace. It's an unfathomable idea that people are disappearing mysteriously, and it's also hard to get anyone who isn't familiar with the situation to become involved. One of the most heartbreaking things is when a person goes missing. In the United States, approximately 600,000 people go missing every year. About 4,400 unidentified bodies are found every year. In the U.S., there were 85,459 active missing persons records as of December 31, 2018. Additionally, around 29,758 of these cases were teens 18 or younger.
