What is National Pan American Day?
National Pan American Day is an event on April 14th each year that honors the First International Conference of American States. It's held during Pan American Week. In 1889, a conference was held in Washington, D.C., that would change the Western Hemisphere. The International Conference for the Western Hemisphere was inspired by Panamerica, a fictional country that never existed. The conference covered many topics from currency to military to trade.
