What is National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day?
If you're a fan of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, you're not alone. People in the U.S. eat over 2000 PB&J sandwiches before they graduate from high school. In honor of this classic treat, March 1s  National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day. In the early 1900s, peanut butter was a delicacy and was only served in New York City’s finest tea rooms. A recipe for peanut butter appeared in a Good Housekeeping magazine article in May 1896. It called for homemakers to use a meat grinder to make peanut butter and spread it on bread. In June of that year, a peanut butter sandwich recipe was published in the culinary magazine Table Talk.
