Penuche fudge is a nut-filled, maple flavoured fudge. Its light colour and maple flavour can be attributed to the use of brown sugar instead of white sugar like in traditional fudge. This candy can be found all over candy shops in New England, but you can also try to make it at home. Find a recipe online and customise it as you please, adding nuts or fruit that you love. Be careful though, fudge is a finicky candy and can go wrong very easily. Always use a thermometer and make sure to stay away from the hot sugar mixture to avoid burns.
