On October 17, the third Tuesday of the month, pharmacy technicians across the country will be celebrated. It is a day to thank them for their hard work and dedication to the health system. But it is also an opportunity for technicians to reflect on their role and how vital it is for pharmacies and hospitals. Pharmacy technicians work in a variety of environments. Depending on education and training, they manage dispensary supply at hospitals, clinics, retail pharmacies, prisons, and veterinary offices. They may supervise other pharmacy staff. Pharmacists are the guardians of medications. They use science to manage and dispense prescription drugs. Technicians assist pharmacists by arranging dispensing schedules, taking inventory, and communicating with doctors.

Pharmacy Technician Day is celebrated annually on the third Tuesday of October. In 2021, Pharmacy Technician Day will be observed on October 19, 2021.
