Are you on April 23rd? It's National Picnic Day. Are you ready to pack up your lunch and enjoy the outdoors? There are a variety of ways to participate in a picnic. Picnics originated in France during the mid-18th century. All you needed was a bottle of wine, a loaf of bread, some cheese, and fruit. These days, picnics can be as elaborate or as simple as you want. Just remember to bring your appetite! Picnics are a great way to have fun in the sun. They are supposed to be easy and relaxed, but there are still some standards. Some picnic foods are sandwiches, chips, fresh fruit and vegetables, light salads, and homemade bars. Picnics can be expanded to include grilled items as well. Burgers and corn on the cob grill up nicely on a portable grill during large picnics.  

National Picnic Day is celebrated every year on April 23rd.
