Relaxation is an important part of life that not many of us have the luxury of partaking in. It is important for us all to take time out of our busy schedules and our hectic lives to prioritise ourselves and our mental health. Despite the fact that many of us don’t get to relax and take time for ourselves, relaxation can play a huge part in mitigating physical and mental health complications. It has been proven time and time again that stress is harmful for our health, and many doctors agree that finding ways to relax can help to reduce the effects caused by the stress of our daily lives. And so, on National Relaxation Day, we urge you all to do what you can to find some time to relax, and to spend the time doing what you love and enjoy.
When Is National Relaxation Day?
August 15th is National Relaxation Day, the day to unwind and focus on some downtime.
History Of National Relaxation Day
National Relaxation Day was founded by a fourth grade boy named Sean Moeller in 1985. Sean was of the opinion that people should spend their time doing absolutely nothing of real value, and he said so in an interview with Valerie Monson in The Des Moines Register.
