It's become popular with gardeners, who like to drink it straight up or use it for cooking. The vodka is now sold across the country. Although called a vegetable, rhubarb is actually a fruit. The law agrees! In 1947, the issue was brought to court. Since rhubarb is more often used as a fruit than as a vegetable, it was determined that it would be considered a fruit for the purposes of taxes and regulations.
