Ancestry can simply be defined as the descent or the lineage of a person. However, heritage is the inherited customs, traditions, beliefs, monuments, and artifacts from our ancestors. Heritage includes both physical objects and intangible things. People gather to celebrate their heritage and the diversity of our country. It is National Roots Day, which aims to encourage us all to look at how our family history influences who we are now. We may not always want to admit it but many of our genes influence the way we act.
