Rum is an alcoholic beverage that is a byproduct of sugar production. It is clear and can also be made directly from sugar cane juices. After the initial distillation and fermentation, rum is aged in oak barrels. Rum is the third most popular spirit in the United States and can be enjoyed on its own or in cocktails.
