Due to physical or mental illnesses, many people around the world cannot leave their homes. They may start to feel lonely and bored if they don't have visitors visiting them frequently enough. Visitors keep them connected to the outside world because they are so cut off from it. It is easy for their loved ones to get busy and forget about them when they are busy. It's the perfect day to visit a shut-in if you know one! If you don't, consider going to a nursing home or hospital where many patients may not be able to leave their rooms and will appreciate your company.

National Shut-in Visitation Day is observed on February 11th annually!
