National Son's and Daughter's Day, like Mother's or Father's Day, celebrates the contributions of sons and daughters to the family unit. As parents, we're often so preoccupied with raising our kids that we forget to enjoy them, and to be involved in their lives. We can all learn a thing or two from our children on how to live our lives joyfully and to its fullest extent. On National Son's and Daughter's Day, set aside some time to spend with your sons and daughters, and make sure to make it extra special and memorable.

August 11th, National Son's and Daughter's Day, brings parents and families together to celebrate the beauty of our offspring.

We have not been able to identify the creator of this national day, but we have found some early recorded observances of the celebration. In 1988, the day was observed in Nanaimo, Canada, as evidenced by a Nanaimo Daily News article.
