What Is National Tape Measure Day?

The tape measure is a simple thing, a strip of plastic with measurements marked at specific increments all along its length. Though the use of the tape measure has been recorded throughout history, beginning with the Romans, the first official patent was filed in 1868 by Alvin J. Fellows of New Haven, Connecticut. He then went on to invent the retractable measuring tape, beginning a whole new era in the world of measurements. The tape measure will never die. It is handy, useful, and always needed.
