Each year on April 27, the United States celebrates National Tell a Story Day. This holiday encourages people of all ages to tell a story. Stories can be told from a book. They can be made up as well as recounted as an actual memory from one’s childhood. Storytelling is an ancient way to share knowledge and culture from one generation to another. Some of the most valuable family traditions and long-told tales are told through stories. In the past, families would gather around a hearth and listen to their elders tell tales. Nowadays, many families have turned to digital storytelling. It is a great way to pass on family histories and learn from experience.
