National Tweed Day - 2022-04-03
What is National Tweed Day?
On April 3, people celebrate National Tweed Day. The reason for the celebration is obscure. The two reasons are that people either believe that this day is to acknowledge William Magear Tweed, a politician from New York who played a significant role in the politics of the 19th-century city and state. On April 3, Boss Tweed is well known for stealing $200 million from New York City. Few other people think that his birthday celebrates the tweed fabric. Tweed is a rough fabric made of wool. It is used for both formal and casual clothing. Scottish tweed, or Lovat, is the most famous kind.
