October 21 is National Witch Hazel Day. This day honors the first skincare treatment in America, as well as one of its best ingredients. Witch hazel is used in many cosmetic and OTC products. This effective plant extract has been used since the late 1800s. It can be used in skincare, haircare, eye care, and topical OTC drug products to provide toning, oil control, and astringency claims. Witch Hazel has been used as an ingredient in over-the-counter and prescription products for more than a century. The United States Pharmacopoeia states that authentic Witch Hazel is a colorless distilled product with a characteristic scent. It's used to cure acne and other ailments.  

National Witch Hazel Day is celebrated on October 21.
