Physician Moms Group is an organization that represents and supports women physicians and medical students. The group celebrated the first National Women Physicians Day on February 3, 2016, and it celebrate it every year since. The goal of this event is to unite women in medicine through community building, communication, collaboration, and community engagement. The celebration includes both serious conversations about gender inequality in medicine as well as fun events, such as receptions with food and wine, cooking classes, lunches with mentors. The event celebrates Elizabeth Blackwell’s birthday; she was the first female medical doctor in the U.S.
