Pledge of Allegiance Day - 2021-12-28
What is Pledge of Allegiance Day?
The Pledge of Allegiance has been a part of our country's history for more than seventy years. For many, it is an opportunity that they can share their love and appreciation with those who serve or have served in uniform as well as citizens around them by reciting this sacred phrase: "I pledge allegiance to the flag ." Many different people across America participate each year on what was originally intended only to be used during times when unity needs must. The original pledge read:
“I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
After minor changes, the final version reads:
“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
