Occurring across 10,000 cities, National "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive Day is the largest food donation drive in the USA. Mail deliverers pick up parcels of non-perishable foods as they drop off mail and donate to those less fortunate. The drive has received a number of recognitions and awards for being extremely successful and helpful to those in need.

National "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive Day is celebrated on the second Saturday in May every year.

The drive began in October of 1991 and was made annual when the pilot program was massively successful. It was later moved to the spring as this is the time when food banks struggle with short supplies of food.
