The turkey became the national bird of America after it was chosen by George Washington in 1783. The pilgrims were very thankful for this majestic creature during their time on Plymouth Rock, which gave us all an appreciation for its scrumptiousness and uniqueness! Since it's Turkey-free Thanksgiving here are a few alternates to turkey on Thanksgiving day: Roasted Duck, Juicy Roasted Chicken, Clarke's Quiche, vegan shepherd's pie. Slice anything but turkey on Turkey-free Thanksgiving!

Turkey Free Thanksgiving is observed annually on the 4th Thursday in November this year on the November 25th.
