World Mental Health Day - 2021-10-10
What is World Mental Health Day?
2020 is the year the world went crazy. The Covid-19 pandemic caused lockdowns, job losses, and an increase in mental health issues worldwide. There’s a stigma surrounding mental health. The primary aim of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness and increase support for those dealing with this issue. Trauma, high stress, and anxiety all cause mental health issues. The most common mental health illness is depression. Mental health doesn’t discriminate. It can affect anyone. We can contribute to better treatment and funding for research by donating to a non-profit organization focusing on mental health. You can support World Mental Health Day by taking care of yourself and your mental health. Educate yourself on the warning signs of depression and anxiety. Reach out, listen, and learn. Reach out to a friend who is battling and support them.
When is World Mental Health Day?
World Mental Health Day is celebrated on October 10th. Each year, we concentrate on a specific theme. The theme for this year’s World Mental Health Day is Mental Health in an unequal world.
History of World Mental Health Day
World Mental Health Day was founded in 1992 by the World Federation for Mental Health to raise awareness of mental health issues and reduce the stigma surrounding them.
