National Day Directory owns and operates a chrome browser extension called Happi Appi that is used to insert dynamic greetings linked to the national Day Directory on our site. The extension also inserts Dynamic Quotes from people based on the user’s interest and selection.
Happi Appi interacts with the user’s Gmail and Google chrome to insert these dynamic greetings. The extension needs permission to access the user’s Gmail account because it needs to know when the user starts a new email. It also needs access to “Read” the email to insert the greeting and the quote in the correct place. It doesn’t actually read or process any information in the email it just looks for the signature block and inserts the greeting before and the quote after the signature block.
Happi Appi connects periodically from the User’s computer to nationaldaydirectory.com in order to fetch any changes the User has made in their selection of greetings/quotes to use.
Happi Appi Stores the User’s selections on his computer in his chrome browser so that every email he sends will have the correct greeting inserted.
Happi Appi uses a browser notification to alert the User if they have no greeting selected for any day so they can go and select a greeting.
How we protect your data
All data collected are stored securely on our servers with only select staff being able to access that data in its raw format.
